City Council Speaker Christine Quinn speaks at a press conference outside of the Ambassador Theater where it was announced that city officials had convinced Samuel French Inc., the licensing agency that represents the authors of the Broadway show CHICAGO, to allow their Herbert H. Lehman High School production of the show to go on. Earlier, agency president, Charles Van Nostrand, had told The Associated Press that an agreement between the owners of the show, the producer and the Broadway theater stipulates that no entity within a 75-mile radius of the New York production can get the rights.
