The Norman S. Benzaquen Hall (1,649 sq ft), which accommodates chamber-sized orchestras, choruses, larger chamber ensembles and special events. In Norman S. Benzaquen Hall, an alternate treatment addresses the acoustical requirements of a smaller space. Behind horizontal wood slats and sound-transparent materials there is an array of specially- shaped diffusion elements mixed with acoustical absorption panels. This acoustic design will provide a balanced tonal quality for chamber orchestras, choruses, and larger chamber ensembles.---.New York, NY: Feb 08 2011: .Tour of The DiMenna Center, the new (and first permanent) home of the Orchestra of St. Luke's at 450 West 37th Street. The new $37 million 20,000 square foot music center is slated to open in March and offers rehearsal and recording spaces for musicians and houses the organization's administrative offices. The space is designed to meet the diverse needs of local and touring musicians who, up until now, have lacked adequate, affordable rehearsal and recording space in New York City. Interesting fact: the building is also home to the Baryshnikov Arts Center.
