Add to Lightbox DownloadKevin "The Commissioner" Ettinger, 74 and a retired teacher from Hastings-on-Hudson, prepares to bat during a game of stickball..---.The Ethical Stickball League has been operating since 1970, meeting every Sunday in the parking lot behind Hastings High School from 10:30AM to 1PM. The players are men now mostly in their 70s - carrying nicknames like "The Wise One", "Hit Man" and "Plays Hurt" - who have an affiliation with the school, either as former teachers, students or neighbors. As their slogan suggests, all it takes for a few hours of "Aestas Aeterna" (Eternal Summer) is an outside temperature above 45 degrees and 8 willing souls...CREDIT: Rob Bennett for The NY Times
